"You take your own hostage," one of them said to him. "Leave the others ..." "No way!" said Harry furiously - but only two large bubbles came out. "Your task is to retrieve your own friend ... leave the others ..." "She's my friend too!" Harry yelled, gesturing toward Hermione, an enormous silver bubble emerging soundlessly from his lips. "And I don't want them to die either!" | Book 4, Pages 499-500 Goblet of Fire, Chapter 26, "The Second Task" |
... an old man Harry had seen only in a dream was now pushing himself out of the end of the wand just as Cedric had done... and his ghost, or his shadow, or whatever it was, fell next to Cedric's, and surveyed Harry and Voldemort, and the golden web, and the connected wands, with mild surprise, leaning on his walking stick... "He was a real wizard, then?" the old man said, his eyes on Voldemort. "Killed me, that one did. ... You fight him, boy. ..." | Book 4, Page 666 Goblet of Fire, Chapter 34, "Prior Incantatem" |
"Excellent," whispered Ron, as they sat down in their usual seats. "Let's see Umbridge get what she deserves." Professor McGonagall marched into the room without giving the slightest indication that she knew Professor Umbridge was there. ... "Hem, hem," said Professor Umbridge. "Yes?" said Professor McGonagall, turning round, her eyebrows so close together they seemed to form one long, severe line. "I was just wondering, Professor, whether you received my note telling you of the date and time of your inspec -" "Obviously I received it, or I would have asked you what you are doing in my classroom," said Professor McGonagall, turning her back firmly on professor Umbridge. | Book 5, Pages 319-320 |
Professor Umbridge gave her most pronounced cough yet. "May I offer you a cough drop, Dolores?" Professor McGonagall asked curtly, without looking at Professor Umbridge. "Oh no, thank you very much," said Umbridge with that simpering laugh Harry hated so much. "I just wondered whether I could make the teensiest interruption, Minvera?" | Book 5, Pages 663-664 |
But nobody was paying the slightest attention to their star charts anymore: Jets of red light were still flying beside Hagrid's cabin, yet somehow they seemed to be bouncing off him. He was still upright and still, as far as Harry could see, fighting. Cries and yells echoed across the grounds; a man yelled, "Be reasonable, Hagrid!" and Hagrid roared, "Reasonable be damned, yeh won' take me like this Dawlish!" Harry could see the tiny outline of Fang, attempting to defend Hagrid, leaping at the wizards surrounding him until a Stunning Spell caught him and he fell to the ground. Hagrid gave a howl of fury, lifted the culprit bodily from the ground, and threw him: The man flew what looked like ten feet and did not get up again. Hermione gasped, both hands over her mouth; Harry looked around at Ron and saw that he too was looking scared. None of them had ever seen Hagrid in a real temper before... | Book 5, Pages 720-721 Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 31, "O.W.L.s" |
"Look!" squealed Parvati, who was leaning over the parapet and pointing to the foot of the castle where the front doors seemed to have opened again; more light had spilled out onto the dark lawn and a single long black shadow was now rippling across the lawn. | Book 5, Page 721 Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 31, "O.W.L.s" |
"You two," she went on, gazing down at Fred and George, "are about to learn what happens to wrongdoers in my school." "You know what?" said Fred. "I don't think we are." "STOP THEM!" shrieked Umbridge, but it was too late. As the Inquisitorial Squad closed in, Fred and George kicked off from the floor, shooting fifteen feet into the air, the iron peg swinging dangerously below. Fred looked across the hall at the poltergeist bobbing on his level above the crowd. "Giver her hell from us, Peeves." And Peeves, whom Harry had never seen take an order from a student before, swept his belled hat from his head and sprang to a salute as Fred and George wheeled about to tumultuous applause from the students below and sped out of the open front doors into the glorious sunset. | Book 5, Pages 674-675 Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 29, "Career Advice" |
"Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, Hermione Granger," Harry said very quickly, "Ginny Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Luna Lovegood... We're here to save someone, unless your Ministry can do it first!" ... Half a dozen badges slid out of the metal chute... he glanced at the topmost one. HARRY POTTER | Book 5, Page 768 Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 34, "The Department of Mysteries" |
